Q: I’m not from the US, can I get in on this?
A: Torch is currently available in the App Store in the United States. We are working on expanding to other countries.
Q: How do I see my Degree of Separation from an athlete?
A: Your Degree of Separation from an athlete is depicted by a green number followed by a degree symbol. This is provided for each flame in your Torch on the "Flames" page, which can be accessed from the menu at the bottom of the app. Additionally, this information is also displayed for a specific athlete on the athlete's profile page. Tap the green number at either location and you will see the path the flame took to get to you.
Q: How do I ignite a flame in my Torch?
A: There are two ways to get your first flame in your Torch: (1) If you are a certified athlete (competing at a professional, semi-pro, or collegiate level), the Torch app will ignite a flame that represents you once your status is verified. Once ignited, you can share your flame with others, who in turn can spread your flame. (2) If you are a fan (not a certified athlete), you can immediately request to share your Torch with other users and receive flames from their Torch.
Q: Is there an Android or website version?
A: Currently, Torch is only available for iOS. We are working to make it available on Android as soon as possible. Other platforms are possible as well.

Q: Who can be certified as an athlete?
A: Anyone who is competing as a professional, semi-pro, or collegiate athlete. The app is currently only available in the United States, but we are working to have it available globally.
Q: How do I sign up as an athlete?
A: When you first sign in, you will be given the option to sign in as an athlete. Please be aware that each athlete must be certified before his or her flame will be ignited. Please follow the directions provided in the email we send to confirm your status as a Certified Athlete. It will come from email@example.com. If we cannot confirm your status, the account will be suspended. You will still be able to register as a fan.
Q: I signed up as a fan, but I’m really an athlete, can I change types of accounts?
A: Currently, there is no way to transition an account from a fan account to an athlete account. If you have a fan account and believe you qualify for an athlete account, you will have to create a new account and get certified as an athlete.
Q: How do I edit my Athlete Profile?
A: Go to your account page (accessed with the menu at the bottom of the app) and click on the edit button at the top left. Then click on the Athlete Bio or Athlete Support tabs to enter or edit information. Be sure to tap the save button before going back to the main account page.
Q: How can I be a Featured Athlete?
A: Athletes featured on the Discovery page are chosen by our staff based on new profiles and athletes that hit certain thresholds of Torchbearers.
